SuperMoms
The SuperMoms Program is a holistic maternal wellness initiative designed to support moms and moms-to-be aged 15–30 years in rural Nkomazi. The program’s mission is to empower women during pregnancy and early motherhood by promoting physical health, mental well-being, and informed decision-making. Its vision is to build confident, resilient mothers who are equipped with the resources and support needed to raise healthy children and navigate motherhood successfully.
SuperMoms addresses key challenges faced by moms and moms-to-be through integrated support in nutrition, mental health, and disease prevention. The program provides nutritional education, monthly food packs, and essential supplements to support healthy pregnancies and breastfeeding. In addition, participants receive psycho-education, emotional support, and mental health activities that strengthen coping skills, self-esteem, and overall well-being.
The program also offers comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education, including HIV and STI prevention, testing, counselling, and support with treatment adherence for HIV-positive mothers. Through a combination of education, healthcare access, and community support, SuperMoms ensures that moms and moms-to-be are empowered to make informed decisions that improve outcomes for both themselves and their children.
