dlalanathi

The dlalanathi Youth in Action program builds relationships with young people, inviting them to participate and shape the change they want to see in their community.

The Zulu word “dlalanathi” translates to “play with us” and the lower case “d” reflects the integration of child’s play in their community work.

By increasing youth participation within key leadership structures and institutions in the community (like clinics and schools), the dlalanthi Youth in Action program aims to increase access to services for youth and influence SRH services to become more youth-friendly and allow every opportunity for young people to take charge of their sexual health.

Greater Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal
dlalanathi (yes, with a small ‘d’) seeks to lessen the devastating impact HIV/AIDS has had on South African youth and communities by providing much needed teen support programs.
